Swiss Institute ( Branding )
This is a conceptual redesign created with consultation with staff at Swiss Instititute.

"Swiss Institute is an independent arts institution that has been based in New York City for over thirty years. It was started by a group of Swiss patrons living in the city who were interested in the arts, although it has never been a national cultural organization, but something more hybrid and flexible."

- Excerpted from Laura McLean-Ferris, "Voices of Swiss Institute" in SInce 1986
(Swiss Institute, New York, and Koenig Books, London, 2019.)

Opening on May 8, 2025, in SI’s lobby, this will be the first-ever brick and mortar location of do you read me?! in the U.S.

The goal of this conceptual rebrand is to increase the visibility of Swiss Institute,
through identifying Swiss Institute as a contemporary third space that provides the public
with free access to artwork, a reading room, bookstore, and rooftop.

The rebrand was done with careful consideration of the institution’s history. Elements of its original design were retained, such as the structure of the iconic hooked “S” logo, originally
set in Didot Elder by Optimo.
